How It Works - Leaf Safe Guttering - Enclosed Roof Gutter System to keep Gutters Clean, Safe & Leaf Free

Leaf Safe Guttering is a new gutter system designed to eliminate the risk of vermin, leaves and other tree debris from clogging up home gutters thereby creating a significant fire or flood hazard.

Leaf Safe Guttering is a new gutter system designed to eliminate the risk of vermin, leaves and other tree debris from clogging up home gutters thereby creating a significant fire or flood hazard.

Based on the existing principle of surface tension guttering, the Leaf Safe Guttering System sits below the outer edge of the roof and is completely enclosed on top by a sloping lid that forms an effective barrier against leaves and debris falling into the gutter trough. Instead of lying in the gutter and posing a fire or flooding risk, the leaves simply slide (or are washed) down the sloping lid of the gutter and fall on the ground.

On the way down, the falling leaves and rainwater flow along an outer vertical gutter face that has two sets of perforations, the upper flaps of which are still attached and turned inside the gutter. The flaps guide the water flowing over the vertical edge of the gutter to fall inside the gutter trough. The two sets of perforations are staggered so that water flowing between the top row of perforations will be caught by the bottom row.
